Max Scherzer will be on the hill for Detroit.. This talented right-hander has a record of 13-7 and an ERA of 4.23. Scherzer has a 93mph fastball which works very well with his slider and changeup. His lack of consistency this season is a concern.

The ex-Almeria boss has survived a financial meltdown and the departures of David Silva and David Villa, and now starts his fourth season without Juan Mata. Between them, Sergio Canales, Pablo Hernandez and Pablo Piatti can cover for Mata and help the boss thrive again.

Los Che have won their opening game of the season in each of Emery’s three previous campaigns.

Despite the popularity of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray is a legitimate threat at the US Open.

Novak Djokovic is the top seed and the favorite on the tennis betting odds for the U.S. Open, which gets underway on Monday, but he’s also coming off a tournament in which he had to retire early with a shoulder injury.

Djokovic, who won the Rogers Cup in Toronto earlier this month, disappointed his supporters on the tennis odds at the Bodog Sportsbook last week when he pulled out of the final match in Cincinnati against Andy Murray with a sore shoulder.

Murray, who had ousted Mardy Fish 6-3, 7-6 in the semifinals of that tournament, was leading the final 6-4, 3-0 when Djokovic called it quits.

The New Orleans Saints vs. Oakland Raiders is the featured matchup on Sunday night football which will be showcased this weekend. The last NFL betting odds as posted by online sportsbook have the Saints listed as 4.5 point favorites with the total set at 38.
